A late-race incident between Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon has cost Jeff Gordon a hefty sum of money and a significant amount of points.
NASCAR announced a $100 thousand fine for the four-time Sprint Cup Series Champion and docked Gordon and his team 25 driver and owner points due to the incident that happened at Phoenix International Raceway. Gordon was also placed on probation until December 31st.
Clint Bowyer's crew chief Brian Pattie was fined $25 thousand as well for his crew's participation in the incident. Clint Bowyer received no fine or penalty as result of the incident. Pattie was also placed on probation until December 31st.
In a separate deal, Brad Keselowski was fined $25 thousand for having an electronic device in his car during the race.
