Nineteen year old Georgia native Max Gresham has re-signed with Eddie Sharp Racing to run the full 22 race schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Gresham ran five races for the organization in the 2012 season with a best finish of 11th at Martinsville Speedway. Gresham's sponsor Made In the USA will return for the entire season. Gresham is excited for the opportunity at ESR in the #8 Chevrolet.
"We started something good at Eddie Sharp Racing this year," Gresham said. "It was clear we needed to continue the relationship we started in August. We're happy to be with Eddie Sharp Racing again. The team is a proven winner, and they always deliver a great race truck."
Team owner Eddie Sharp echoed Gresham's excitement.
"We're pleased to have Max Gresham returning next year," team owner Eddie Sharp said. "I was impressed with how much he evolved as a driver in just five races. It's our plan to continue that process. We will give him the resources necessary to be successful. It was really important to bring him back next year."
Also returning to the team is crew chief Chris Showalter. Showalter has 122 starts a crew chief in the Camping World Truck Series with three wins to his credit, the last one coming in the 2005 season with driver Jack Sprague. Showalter thinks the team is ready for big things in the 2013 season.
"This is a great opportunity," Showalter said. "Eddie Sharp gave us all the tools we needed. It's an honor that Max has this much faith and confidence in this team."
