Mark Webber, who has signed on with Red Bull Racing for the 2013 season with his seventh one-year contract with the team, might be in his last season this time around.
Dr. Helmut Marko an advisor for Red Bull Racing's Formula One team has been stated as saying that the team was not pleased with the way Webber raced in the 2012 season finale at Brazil when teammate Sebastian Vettel barely held off Ferrari's Fernando Alonso to win his third straight World Championship.
"Mark was not optimally cooperative in Brazil," Marko said.
Webber at age 36 is entering his seventh season with Red Bull Racing and 12th in Formula One. He has won nine times with Red Bull Racing including twice in 2012 but has never finished better than third in the standings and finished sixth in 2012. In fact his four podium finishes in 2012 were his fewest with Red Bull since 2008.
Marko has tabbed Nico Hulkenberg as a possible replacement for Webber come 2014. The 25-year old German has signed a one-year deal with Sauber for the 2013 season. In 2012 Hulkenberg competed for Sahara Force India F1 Team and scored 63 points finishing 11th in the standings. He did not compete in the 2011 season but in 2010, his rookie season, he scored one pole and collected 22 points and finished 14th in the standings for AT&T Williams.
