Las Vegas Motor Speedway has announced that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series testing session that was originally scheduled for January 28th and 29th at the track has now been moved to Thursday, March 7th. The Kobalt Tools 400 for the Sprint Cup Series, the third race on the schedule, will he held on Sunday, March 10th.
The 1.5 mile superspeedway is similar to a lot of tracks on the NASCAR schedule and Las Vegas Motor Speedway is hoping to have a lot of cars show up for the testing session. Since the test has been moved to the day before practice and qualifying for the regular race weekend there is a good chance that the majority of the Sprint Cup cars will be there.
NASCAR is allowing teams to participate in up to up to four tests at tracks on the schedule for the first time since 2008 when a ban was put on all testing at tracks that the series races at.
The test session will be free and open to the public to attend.
