It's official. Kyle Busch has signed a multi-year extension to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing for 2014 and beyond. The deal had been speculated for weeks and was finally confirmed by the organization Thursday afternoon.
Part of the agreement, Busch confirmed, was the deal to let him run as many Nationwide races as he would like, something that the organization has become critical about over the last few seasons. That, however, seems to be a thing of the past and the team and Kyle Busch will run 25 Nationwide races together in the 2013 season.
Busch will bring over his #54 and Monster Energy sponsorship to Joe Gibbs Racing from Kyle Busch Motorsports. Officials at the organization say that the other eight races on the schedule will be filled out with "young talent" which will be announced at a later date. Busch also confirmed he will run 10 races in his own Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Tundra in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Busch confirmed earlier in the year that Kyle Busch Motorsports will continue their presence in the Nationwide Series with driver Parker Kligerman in the No. 77 Toyota. Joey Coulter will drive the full season for KBM in the Trucks. All the Kyle Busch Motorsports entries for both Nationwide and Trucks will be powered by Joe Gibbs Racing engines.
