David Stremme's last race with Swan Racing will be this weekend at Richmond International Raceway the team confirmed on Friday. Stremme has run every race in the 2013 season, with the exception to the Daytona 500 in February when Michael Waltrip was behind the wheel. The team currently sits 33rd in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owner points. Stremme had owned Inception Motorsports for the past two seasons before selling his team to Swan Racing owner Brandon Davis prior to the 2013 season. Cole Whitt will drive the car next weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.

"We welcome Cole Whitt to Swan Racing as the team builds for the future," said team owner Brandon Davis. "Cole is a very talented driver with a bright future and we are eager to see him compete for Swan Racing. I also want to thank David Stremme for his commitment to the team and for helping me learn so much about the sport in my first full season in NASCAR

Whitt will drive the car for Chicago and four other races in the 2013 season. Those races will be Kansas, Charlotte, Talladega and Phoenix. The team will finish off the season using as many as two other drivers, who will be named at a later date. The team also said they will continue to look at a number of drivers in preparation for the 2014 season.

"I am thrilled to get back to racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Swan Racing. I told Mr. Davis that I will give him all I have to make this team successful," Cole Whitt said

No word on David Stremme's future plans. Stremme did comment on the situation.

"Ill be honest, I dont know what the hell is going on," Stremme said by phone Friday morning. "No one has told me anything. I thought was going to Chicago (next week)."

Stremme has made 189 career Sprint Cup Series starts without a victory. He has 24 starts this season and his best finish is 12th at Talladega in April. Stremme was asked if he was still part owner of the team and he elected not to comment.
